While swimming in the lakes is not permitted, you’re welcome to bring your SUP. If you plan to bring a canoe or kayak, a permit is required—just ask us for details. Shopping not your bag? Don't fret, the beautiful San Juan River meanders its course through our quaint little town and during the summer months Kayaking, Rafting and Fishing can be found aplenty. Don't want to put in too much effort rafting? Grab a tube and float the river with no real destination in mind. Water sports not your jam fam? Well then lace up those hiking boots and hit the high mountain trails where you're sure to see beautiful mountain flowers, quaking aspens, tall pines and if you're on the right trail a breathtaking waterfall; Not to mention, the abundant wildlife.

No there's no water fall at the end of this hike but don't let that deter you. This easy hike located 15 miles in on Upper Blanco Road is absolutely gorgeous. Meander your way through tall quaking aspen trees, spy toad stools all in a row and if you've hit the season just right you make luck into some wild strawberries.
4 Mile: 4 Miles??? Don't worry this hike consists of 6.2 miles round trip with awesome views, quiet meadows, and at the end? You guessed it, a breathtaking waterfall to rinse off that trail sweat. Located about 15 miles or so in off 4 Mile Road. There is an upper and lower trail head. I recommend the lower.
Treasure Falls (Tourist Favorite and local Treasure)
Not really into stomping out the miles? Look no further then. This short and to the point hike is certainly not lacking in beauty and splendor. Happen to be heading up Wolf Creek Pass? Perfect! Just stop by to gander at Treasure Falls. So easy, even the kiddies will have a blast.
